A new plan to reconstruct the 'old towns'
Yes, as you may note, this old town blog has long been left idle. I am sorry!
Today I have an idea of reconstructing this blog - A New HK Old Town.
沒錯,這個blog停了很久.
今天,突然有重建這個blog的念頭 - 全新的”重見舊區”.
The articles of this blog will no longer be confined to Sham Shui Po only, but is going to cover all districts in Hong Kong. I also love other old towns like Western district and New Territories and took lots of photos of them.
So I decide to reactivate this blog, with a style different from before. Simply:-
1. It is more like a photo blog - photo + short description.
It is hoped that the distinguished buildings or heritage items in Hong Kong can be shortly introduced via spectacular pics taken by me or my partner Wong Yee Hop. As a result, the public can care more about the conservation of Hong Kong heritage.
2. It is in bilingual, simple English with short Chinese.
Why? First, I seldom write in English, but I want to train up myself. Second, and more importantly, I aspire to pass the messages on Hong Kong heritage overseas. If the blog can be a small 'HK cultural heritage travel guide' for tourists around the world, it's meaningful and I will be very happy. However, my English is just in communicative level, not good at all. I hope you can tolerate my naive and sometimes mistaken English.
Also welcome to your participation! You can contribute your memory, photo, opinion, criticism, or just bull shit (in Chinese or English)! My partner and I are very pleased to read your responses. Please leave your messages or email to us at hkoldtown@gmail.com .
'Ambitious, but incompetent', this is the best desciption about Yip Yatchi! Whatever, I hope I can persist to make this blog sustainable, just like my another blog diumanpark (should I say this blog is sponsered by Diu Express (TM)? ).
Thank you for your support!
Yip Yatchi
這個blog不再限於深水埗,而是遍及全港各區.簡單來說,這個blog會有以下修改:
1. 多貼相,文字較少.
2. 盡量用雙語,因為希望外國人都可以一看香港的文化遺產.
